Flash or Cash or Sales

My testing has shown that a "pretty" graphic site does not sell as well as a plain old site that looks and speaks plainly to the prospect. The goal is sales not entertainment.

I, like most, wanted to have a better looking site. The idea was that the "pretty" site will sell better than a one page sales letter site.

Over the last 3 months, I have been testing this idea.

A 30% drop in revenue is what I saw.

As soon as I placed the single page "plain jane" site back, the sales picked back up.

This has me really thinking... is it the traffic and offer? Or is it the packaging of the website?

My testing is telling me that it is the clear communication of the offer and the traffic.

So... target your traffic. Segment it. Know what keyword conversations your visitors are in.

You'll know by testing and paying attention what they are looking for and buying.

Best Regards,
